So, uh, I succumbed to the temptation and bought Collette and her girls They're mostly painted, but, I have to say, fuck the doves and fuck the mannequins. Im glad I'm done. Fun to paint though. Just got the bases and a performer+a mannequin to finish to get the box done.

Grumble, grumble mannequins.

Tuesday 5 July 2016

I got to play another game today. I forgot to record it! Woo!

It was under the Gaining Grounds 2016 pack, and we ended up playing Squatter's Rights, with Take Prisoner, Convict Labour, Set up, Frame for Murder, and Exhaust their Forces.

I played my Arcanists, declaring:
Mei Feng with Vapourmancy(For the trigger), Seismic Claws(Triggers), and Imbued Energies.
Kang with Imbued Energies and Imbued Protection.
Howard 'Big H' Langston with Imbued Energies
Double Rail Worker
Double Metal Gamin

He took:
Ulix with the bow and clobbering stick
Old Major with Corn Husks
The Sow
Penelope
Lenny
McTavish
Slop Hauler
Sorry, but I can't really remember upgrades beyond that.

Scheme-wise, I took Frame for Murder on Howard and Convict Labour. He took Frame for Murder on the Sow, and Exhaust their forces.

Turn 1 was nothing special. We both got in position for turn 2.

On turn 2, Mei went in for the Alpha strike, and wound up stroking Ulix's beard sensually. Get that image out of your head. Candles and everything. Howard followed in and swiftly executed Ulix, ending the cuddle party in the centre. He also exhausted Howard for a point. Kang, and the 2 rail workers just dropped markers for Convict Labour and claimed 2 Squat markers.

Turn 3 resulted in Howard dying to the Sow, after he flurried the Commy Pig in the face, killing him, netting me 2 points. Mei then killed The Sow giving up 3 points. I actually didnt realise that he took that, as he played the Sow cagily, as opposed to me charging everything with Howard, forcing my opponent to kill him.

Turn 4 had no real highlights, beyond his piglet dropping the slop hauler who reckless-ed(is that a word? I dunno) across the entire board to two wounds, allowing my rail worker to kill him and one of the piglets that the sow exploded into. The rail worker was then promptly killed. This allowed Mei to come back and babysit that part of the board. Kang also whomped Lenny upside the head, killing him. He didnt realise and crawled back to the bayou though. A happy ending there, I guess.

Turn 5 started simply with Mei killing the last piglets and sitting impressively in the centre of the board safely. McTavish punched Kang for two wounds and exhausted him(BOO! HISS!), and I retaliated by discarding a card on a rail worker to gain the positives and promptly forgetting about the positives from Kang to not do enough to put McTavish to a point where a single attack from Kang would kill him. This forced me to spend all Kang's AP on hitting McTavish as opposed to taking the (1) action after beating him in the face to remove the condition.

In the end it was 10-9 to my opponent. Overall, a fun game as we were both trying new crews/new playstyles and there were several major swings.

Friday 1 July 2016

I had two more games with my Arcanists now.  One with Ramos against Mei Feng in interference, in which I lost it all in a turn due to me committing with Langston too early and Kang beating on Joss who I chose not to save, hoping to draw out more activations to get the most out of his reactivate.

The second was Ironsides vs Lynch in extraction. I pulled out a draw due to Ironsides being a tank. Huggy was a pain, and I learnt a lot of lessons. Such as, Gunsmiths are good, but not with Ironsides, and a single Mage is best.

On an unrelated note, I have Johan painted up! Some condition removal and healing for the M&SU!

Tuesday 28 June 2016

So. Finished Ramos now. Drybrushing=power. As such, the more drybrushes you eat, the more power you get. I'm pretty sure it works like that anyway.

Back onto the point. I finally got a full game in with my arcanists that wasn't actually an intro! Yay! I got smashed by Lady J thanks to committing Kaeris and the golem too early! Boo!  In hindsight, I should have just given up the golem to my opponent and used Kaeris to set stuff on fire for the Gunsmiths.

Hindsight and all that, I guess.

Unfortunately, no memes for this, but I've got another game tomorrow in which I'll get smashed, hopefully. I'll try to record that on a turn by turn basis.

Saturday 25 June 2016

Still on track with the plan to finish a crew a day. Got Ironsides and her gang of unruly troublemakers done. The bases just need tidying, so no photos, fortunately. My camera skills, or lack thereof, don't show off my models. So have a poorly thought out meme, with regards to the current hot topic instead.

Friday 24 June 2016

After finishing the Cult of December in two days, I'm starting to think I was underambitious in the 'crew a week' statement. I'm currently aiming to get it all done by the end of June. Nothing like a bit of pressure.

Also, take a bad photo of the Raspy crew

I'll get a lightbox eventually. Honest.

Thursday 23 June 2016

So. I'm aiming to get a crew painted a week. The current list of models is:

The Cult of December
Plastic starter
Classic Snowstorm
2x Metal Silent Ones
3x December Acolytes

The M&SU
Plastic starter, built for 9 single spiders and one swarm

M&SU Assets
Metal Kaeris starter
Eternal flame 'Counts as'
3x Union Miner
2x Metal Gamin

Rail Crew
Plastic Starter
Rail Golem

Troubleshooters
Plastic Starter

So. Currently, I've got most of the Cult of December painted. But due to my hobby ADD, I started on the M&SU assets. As soon as I figure out how to upload pictures, I'll do it.
